Here is a selection of sample evidence in recognised Elsevier journal studies for positive results using hypnosis/ hypnotherapy for pain control and anaesthesia in oncology, surgery, chronic pain, pregnancy and childbirth.
Studies to date have been mostly small, 80-100 patients per study. More study is needed. But since July 2011, The Royal Society of Medicine and Royal College of Surgeons have officially recommended that

If you would like to collaborate on solid non-pharmaceutical initiatives for your patient's care plan, please call.
I can relay your target suggestion to someone imaginatively with a measurable bodily outcome. If you can describe what needs to happen from the inside, I can help your patient to craft a bespoke placebo.
Hypnotherapy is the best possible intervention for influencing psychoneurimmunology and psychosomatic health. It is sustainable, repeatable, measurable, and puts the success in the hands of your patient = not a drug they were given by someone else. This in itself has incomparable confidence value in the long term.
